NEXOHOMINIS: BLACK SUN ARTWORK

A science-fiction universe from a Canadian indie studio

NexoHominis: Black Sun brings satirical games to a shared universe of stories, tabletop warfare, and a science-fiction video game. Exodus Games is a Canadian wargame company developing an RTS (real-time strategy) game built around armies, resources, and opposing worldviews. Players who look for good real-time strategy games can follow the project as it works toward Steam Early Access.

Across tabletop, video games, and original fiction, the conflict offers different ways into the same setting. If you follow top RTS games or new indie video games with a story, explore the current video game plans, read the Core Alpha Rulebook, and subscribe for development news.

01 THE UNIVERSE

CAPITAL. AMBITION. HUMANITY ASCENDANT.

Humanity.
Incorporated.
Capital.
Unbound.

Hyper-capitalism is our achievement.
Consumption is how we build the future.

The Final Merger™ gave humanity one Corporate Family™. We bought out the debts of Earth’s remaining countries, united citizenship with employment, and carried our most productive employees into the stars. Today, our subsidiaries turn fresh worlds into fresh opportunities. Work creates income. Income creates consumption. Consumption creates the need to work. Debt keeps that beautiful cycle moving. A universe of untapped resources awaits, and your next purchase is part of its future.

From the orders that move an army to the lives caught beneath it, one conflict unfolds across real-time strategy games with deep lore, tabletop battles, miniatures, and stories.

HOPE · CORPORATE DOCTRINE

Every star, an asset. Every victory, a return.

100%

The setting behind the strategy

The NexoHominis universe connects strategy games with deep lore through a conflict told at several scales. Fleet movements and resource demands become battlefield decisions; those decisions reach the workers, soldiers, and institutions whose records fill the Stories archive. The setting’s satire examines how a civilization explains its own ambitions, and what disappears from the account it gives its people.

Explore hyper-capitalism in sci-fi through HOPE’s corporate language, or switch to BioLife’s accounts of duty and collective purpose. Read each faction’s own material alongside its assessment of the enemy. The star map places the conflict in a wider setting, while the video game, tabletop rules, and miniatures offer different ways to explore it.

HOPE · YOUR CORPORATE FAMILY™

HOPE

Profit is Progress. Ownership is a myth.

There are no countries. There are no tribes. There is only HOPE and its golden spiral of subsidiaries. The wording of your contract is the law; expansion is the goal. Work. Consume. Breed. Die. Repeat. Welcome to perfected capitalism.

CHAPTER 5 · DEBT APPRECIATION

Debt is the foundation of our society. It binds each citizen-employee to the Corporate Family™ and gives every working day a purpose. Through the Final Merger™, we bought out the debts of Earth’s remaining countries and united humanity at last. Our ark carried our most productive employees into a wider market. That is what a debt-motivated society can achieve. Your obligations are part of something greater.

A culture of consumption keeps ambition alive. Buy the clothes. Eat at the restaurant. Purchase new prescriptions. Whether you need any of it is beside the point: wanting more moves humanity forward. Follow the advertisements, follow your heart, and let tomorrow’s work pay for today’s possibilities. You could suffer a liability-free workplace accident tomorrow. Would you really let that stop you from enjoying the present?

XENOBIOTICS · RESOURCE OBSTRUCTION

BioLife

Their infestation prevents our Growth.

Billions of bioengineered aliens organize around central hives and pursue an unknowable, unprofitable goal. Our observations suggest specialized creatures bred for specialized jobs. They occupy useful worlds, resist our operations, and have not provided a channel for meaningful communication. What a waste of potential materials.

Review the resource assessment

OBSERVATIONS · EXTRACTION POTENTIAL

Xenobiotics has encountered multiple strains. We repeatedly observe hive-centered organization and complex internal communication, but the mechanisms behind them remain unknown. One strain can consume radium that would damage other specimens. A biological difference is a research opportunity: suitable samples may help our Advanced Worker program reduce shielding costs. Please remember that observed coordination tells us nothing useful about what these creatures believe.

The occupied rock contains priority materials. Production zones need food, R&D needs specimens, and our customers need their glow-in-the-dark face paint. A military incursion could address several needs at once. The infestation is therefore an operational problem with potential salvage value. Secure the deposit, recover what can be used, and keep the projected return in view. Their purpose remains unknown. Ours is perfectly clear.

“Extermination, sir, it tests better with the peons.”FleshTronix · AutoScribe™ meeting transcription

Industry in service of humanity

Our subsidiaries give human ambition the machinery it deserves. Armored units, drones, and specialized workers carry the Corporate Family™ into markets that have not yet learned their value. Every deployment depends on a productive economy: resources feed construction, construction supports expansion, and expansion gives our consumers more to desire. The organisms occupying useful worlds remain an obstacle to that process. We can observe their hives and specialized forms, but observation does not reveal what they believe or why they resist us. Our assessments concern the things that matter to human enterprise: deposits, operational costs, recoverable materials, and the opportunities secured by a successful incursion. Profit is Progress.

Satirical science fiction from within the conflict

The NexoHominis Stories archive tells satirical science fiction through the documents its civilizations produce. Corporate advertisements, customer-service transcripts, and field reports carry the language of their institutions. Read each piece in full to follow its lists, dialogue, redactions, and changes in emphasis. The fiction shares the setting and dark humor of the sci-fi games in development.

The HOPE and BioLife switch selects each faction’s introduction and archive. Each side speaks from its own knowledge and assumptions, so who produced an account shapes what it contains. Use the story-type filter to browse the published pieces, then explore the video game or tabletop rules to see how this conflict becomes a strategy game.

A tabletop strategy game with an economy to defend

NexoHominis: Black Sun brings the decisions of resource strategy games to a sci-fi tabletop wargame. You build your army during the battle: workers gather Carbonite, generators supply Energy, and buildings support the forces you produce. Protecting that economy matters alongside movement, attacks, and control of the battlefield.

The Core Alpha Rulebook explains alternating activations, terrain, cover, and Wounded in Action effects. These rules are still in Alpha testing, so use the published draft when preparing a game and following future updates. The project is developed by Exodus Games in Canada. Explore its official miniature range for the armies behind the rules; both physical models and 3D printable STL downloads are coming soon.
